LOCATION

Abbeyfield - Shandford is located in Station Road, Budleigh Salterton, and is set in attractive gardens. We are within level walking distance of the town centre and its amenities. If able, residents are encouraged to use the facilities in the town subject to certain safety procedures for their own protection.
Since 1st March 2012 Shandford has been part of The Abbeyfield Society.

BACKGROUND

Shandford has been run by a non-profit making charity since its opening in 1958 'for the peace and comforting of old friends in Budleigh Salterton and neighbourhood'. It is now managed by The Abbeyfield Society who continue the same ethos. After the property was purchased, it was developed with money raised locally for the elderly from Budleigh Salterton and the surrounding villages. We are still very well supported by the local community.
